Nearly everyone has used or seen a nail clipper. They’re invaluable for tackling hangnails, painful and peeling cuticles, and cutting through plastic wrappers on beauty products. While most people are familiar with them, few know why there’s a little hole at the end.

Meanwhile, some nail clippers have small screws, used to clean under the nails. However, they can be helpful where other tools like a screwdriver may not be available.
